Iridescent clouds are a fantastical phenomenon in which relatively thin clouds in the sky appear to split into red, yellow, green, and other colors along their edges as sunlight bends around cloud particles. This is a simple glass with lines of lacquer painted on it, but it has a special mechanism that makes use of the diffuse reflection of light inside the glass to create a phenomenon reminiscent of iridescent clouds on the inside depending on the angle. The scenery that appears on the glass changes fantastically as you pick up the glass and bring it to your mouth, from the time before sake is poured to the time it is poured.

彩雲は、太陽の光が雲の粒を回り込んで進むことにより上空の比較的薄い雲がその縁に沿うように赤、黄、緑などの色に分かれて見える幻想的な現象。漆をライン状に描いたシンプルなグラスですが、ガラス内で起こる光の乱反射を活用することで角度によって内側に彩雲の想起させる現象が現れる特別な仕掛けがされています。日本酒を注ぐ前から注がれた状態へとこのグラスを手に取り口元へ運ぶ動作のなかでガラスに現れる景色が幻想的に変化します。
