These Echizen lacquerware trays and serving trays are neither square nor round, but are made by connecting two types of curved lines. They are designed with consideration for the compatibility of the diameters of tea bowls, soup bowls, and small plates. Echizen lacquerware is said to have originated approximately 1,500 years ago, and is known as Japan's oldest lacquerware production area, steeped in history and tradition.
